Our club is one of the oldest in the country, dating back to 1882. We will celebrate our 130th year in 2012. We know that the legendary John Walter Scott, right, was a long-time member. The society was instrumental in the 1893 World Columbian Exposition held in Chicago. The sheets that were used in the exhibition were from the Staten Island Album Pages to exhibit the stamps in the glass frames. The club was also given credit for a photographic exhibition as well.
We are trying to compile more about our history and any information about the club anyone can volunteer to us would greatly be appreciated.
